Inspire Montebello! Inspire, Montebello!

You will observe with concern how long a useful truth may be known, and exist, before it is generally received and practiced on.
Not a happy observation about the human condition. In how many ways are we Montebelloans lagging?
Many events. There is now a page at the “My Montebello” Web

Keep your boys busy this summer and beyond. Montebello Boy Scout Troop 330 is vibrant. Something going on every week. Life skills for boys. For more information, Scoutmaster Cindy Farber,
Here is a report by a Scout about summer camp: For the first
time since 1999,Troop 330 was thrilled to attend Camp Emerald Bay! It
was amazing with lots to offer. We completed Kayaking, Canoeing, Rowing,
and Oceanography. We snorkeled and did stand-up paddle boarding too.
"War Canoe" was great. We canoed to Parson’s Beach and
cooked a Dutch oven stew and cobbler dinner, hiked and slept under the
stars! At waterfront we capsized our vessels then learned to re-board
safely. "Aquacade," or Water Olympics was exciting. Troops
compete against each other to show off skills. We were unfortunately
defeated; still it was fun. Overall, Camp Emerald Bay was great and we
will surely return! Jorge Salazar, Historian, Troop 330.

Tell your neighbors. Community: **PHONE SCAM ALERT** Be advised! Hi L. A. County Resident,
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has been advised that citizens are receiving phone calls from individuals who are representing themselves as Department employees. The caller usually tells the citizen that there has been a warrant issued for their arrest for failure to appear for Jury Duty. The caller will tell the victim that they have to pay a sum of money or deputies will come and arrest them. The caller will instruct the victim to either get a Money Order, conduct a wire transfer, or buy a Gift Card (usually Green Dot) and send it to “pay the fine.” BE ALERT, BE ADVISED, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department or any Government Agency will NEVER call and solicit money for fines. ...
