"Out and about" day every month. I hope that we all know about the Montebello High flea market every second Saturday of the month, held in the Wilcox Avenue parking lot to the girls' gymnasium. There is another event on the second Saturday: Did you know that The Schurr Spartan Legion music program at Schurr High School holds a recycling drive every second Saturday of the month throughout the year? The funds generated help pay for the Spartan Legion marching band, color guard, orchestra, drill. The hours of collection at the high school located at 820 N Wilcox Ave in the city of Montebello are from 8 am to 12 pm. Rain or shine students are there to receive your recyclable items. You can bring paper, cardboard, aluminum cans and plastic drinking bottles and used toner cartridges. Just drive on down to the front of the school and the students will help unload your vehicle. Every bit of recycled material counts and will be truly appreciated! If more information is needed, you can call Booster parent Raymond Gonzales at 323-542-8143.
