Narration

    Team 10 uploads to and updates the companion Web site to E-News.

    The Web site will contain, subject to approval by the newsletter teacher,

·       past issues of E-News;

·       discussion among those who labor, learn or live in the community, about legislation and issues under the “public advisory vote”;

·       recognition of recipients completing the online community lessons;

·       minutes of staff meetings, taken and conveyed by team 4, but minus any personal information;

·       income and expenses of E-News, and other best practices;

·       thought-provoking articles and essays by students and the newsletter teacher;

·       reproductions of relevant public documents;

·       suggestions from the public which are part of an “open suggestion box”;

·       lists of hyperlinks to Web sites which help toward the fulfillment of the goals of E-News;

·       the E-News textbook;

·       the textbook for, and information about, the local currency;

·       information about the community fund;

·       other information fulfilling one or more public goals of E-News.

The Web site is to be user-friendly:

·       fonts which are easy to read;

·       modest decoration;

·       large text for ease of reading, but if a line of text has more than twenty words, it might be too long for comfortable reading;

·       large hyperlinks, so that clicking on them be easy;

·       relatively short Web pages;

·       public suggestions organized so as to be easy to find;

·       other information organized so as to be easy to find;

·       static pages for the most part.

Team 10 will learn the procedure for, and will acquire, public documents for posting at the Web site.  Which public documents?  They will be identified by elected officials asked by Team 7 and through the open suggestion box.

The team will monitor suggestions submitted by the public for the open suggestion box.  Suggestions will be about ways in which the quality of life in the community could be improved, including, but is not limited to,

As for hyperlinks to other Web sites, the public will be asked by Team 10 what kinds of information they, the public, will like to find quickly on the Internet.  Following from the answers, the team will find relevant Web sites and add the hyperlinks to the E-News Web site, these hyperlinks categorized to make finding them easy and enlarged so that people, with little effort, click on what they seek.

Team members will periodically proofread, check hyperlinks, and screen the site for inappropriate material.  Team members, in rotation, will check incoming e-mail and, following a conference with the newsletter teacher, respond to any suggestion or alert about the site.  In the case of an alert, which can even be a criticism of material posted at the Web site, if the newsletter teacher is unavailable, then a conference is sought with a predetermined school teacher, so that she or he advise on what to do.

A team member preparing material for upload to the Web site must save her / his files on a hard drive and by e-mailing a copy to the team leaders.  When e-mailing, a team member must state clearly and descriptively what is being sent, e.g., “File for saving by team leaders”.  A file to be uploaded is e-mailed to the newsletter teacher, who approves and uploads.

Team 10 will send an announcement weekly to team 1 about new content.
